Butler County Community College


Butler County Community College was established in the year 1965 in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Courses are offered in Butler Township, Cranberry Township, Armstrong, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer Counties.

The college is popularly referred to as BC3.

The campus is spread over an area of 323 acres.

The college offers courses in four major divisions namely Business, Science & Technology, Humanities & Social Sciences and Nursing & Allied Health programs.

BC3 also provides financial aids to the students. There are three major programs for this purpose namely The Federal Pell Grant, The PHEAA State Grant and the Federal SEOG Grant.

The school is known for its athletics programs. The most important program includes Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball and Golf.

BC3 has more than 20 clubs and organizations where the students can learn various skills and participate in the college activities.

The mascot/slogan of the college is Pioneers.

The college also boasts of an academic staff of just over 300 members.

There are currently about 2000 full time and 1700 part time students in the college.

The school also has the John A. Buck Jr. Library.

The students of all the campuses as well as the residents are allowed to become the patrons of this library.

BC3 Bookstore also helps students in getting quick access to the academic material that they wish to buy. It is also available online. The bookstore also offers BC3 mugs and hoodies to the students.

The BC3 Career Services division helps students in preparing for a better career and finding resources for the profession that they have chosen.

The college also provides regular lifelong learning classes for the residents of the neighboring counties.

The school has also offered the KEYS programs to the students.

They have recently started online classes as well, because of which the reach of the college has enhanced.

There is also the Succop Theater, which is the only performing arts series in Butler.

The college also offers a host of certificate and occupational programs in fields like Child Development Education, Computer Information System, Human Resource Management, Graphic Design and others.

BC3 also provides industrial training as well as public safety training to the employees of local businesses from the nearby counties.

Utica College in Utica, New York has a bachelor's degree in health studies. While this program will not lead directly to licensure or a professional massage certification, it can be a foundation for more specialized study. Students study health from anatomy to anthropology. Graduates often eventually move on into various health-related professions including health administration, exercise physiology, athletic training, physical therapy and occupational therapy.

Passaic County Community College is a school in New Jersey. They don't offer massage programs, but they are a good example of a local career training school.
